Donald Trump praised Hillary Clinton several times during the 2008 presidential race, including saying in previously unreported recordings that she’d “make a good president.”
Trump praised Clinton in the syndicated radio feature “Trumped!” that aired from 2004 to 2008 and featured daily commentary from the businessman, according to The Wall Street Journal.
{mosads}”I know her, and she’d make a good president or a good vice president,” Trump said in the audio clip, adding that “a lot of people” thought a Clinton-Barack Obama pairing “would be a dream ticket.”
Trump has acknowledged his past support for Clinton, including donations to her campaign and those of other Democrats at the time, saying that as a businessman he wanted to curry favor them.
He now regularly attacks the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee as “Crooked Hillary Clinton.”
The real estate mogul-turned presumptive GOP presidential nominee also penned his support for Clinton in 2008, writing, “I know Hillary and I think she’d make a great president or vice-president.” Those remarks were uncovered last year.
