New Clinton ad: ‘Our children are watching’ this election

A new ad from Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign urges voters to ponder whether she or Donald Trump is best for their children.

“Our children are watching,” text in the commercial released Thursday says. “What example will we set for them?”

{mosads}The clip first shows various children watching footage of Trump while somber piano music plays in the background.

“You can tell them to go f— themselves,” Trump, the GOP’s presumptive presidential nominee, says in one soundbite.

“I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn’t lose any voters, OK?” he says in another.

“When Mexico sends its people, they’re bringing drugs, they’re bringing crime, they’re rapists,” Trump says in a third clip..

The commercial then cuts from Trump to Clinton discussing the nation’s youth.

“Our children and grandchildren will look back at this time, the choices we are about to make, the goals we’ll strive for, the principles we will live by, and we need to make sure they can be proud of us,” says Clinton, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee.

Clinton’s campaign said Thursday the spot is the continuation of a previous eight-figure ad buy across multiple formats and part of a national cable TV and digital ad buy.

It will air in swing states Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Ohio, New Hampshire, Nevada, North Carolina and Virginia.
