Labor, climate groups launch $10M anti-Trump campaign

The Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and environmental billionaire Tom Steyer are teaming up to take down Donald Trump.

Both stalwarts of the Democratic Party, the SEIU and Steyer’s group, NextGen Climate, announced Friday a $10 million campaign aimed at electing Hillary Clinton and other progressive candidates.

{mosads}“Stopping the Party of Trump is our No. 1 priority this year,” Steyer said.

“Week after week, Trump continues his racist, xenophobic and hateful campaign for the highest elected office in America,” he added. “Whether it’s on climate change, economic opportunity, or racial justice, a Trump presidency would be a disaster for working families. We need to stop Dangerous Donald.”

The ground campaign will target black, Latino and Asian voters in swing states like Ohio, Pennsylvania and Colorado.

“This partnership means we’ll be having one-on-one conversations with voters from now until election day about raising wages, environmental justice, ending anti-black racism, and a path to citizenship for immigrant families,” said SEIU international president Mary Kay Henry.

“Donald Trump takes us backward on all of those issues,” she added. “Hillary Clinton embraces them and can deliver on them.”
