Syrian girl whose Twitter disappeared reportedly safe

Bana Alabed, the young Syrian girl who has gained thousands of Twitter followers by documenting her life in war-torn Aleppo, is safe, according to the BBC

A source told the BBC that the girl and her mother are safe in “an undisclosed location.”

Bana Alabed’s account disappeared from Twitter on Saturday, after her mother posted that the Syrian army was about to capture them.

“We are sure the army is capturing us now. We will see each other another day dear world. Bye.- Fatemah #Aleppo” the tweet said.

On Monday, Fatemah tweeted another ominous message.

“Under attack. Nowhere to go, every minute feels like death. Pray for us. Goodbye – Fatemah #Aleppo,” she tweeted.

According to the news network, the girl and her family are thought to be living in east Aleppo, the rebel-held part of the city currently under bombardment by President Bashar al-Assad’s regime.
