Md. lawmakers to let state attorney general sue White House

The Maryland General Assembly is set to provide the state’s attorney general the power to sue the Trump administration without approval from Gov. Larry Hogan (R), the Associated Press reported.  

Maryland’s House of Delegates will vote Wednesday on the legislation, which passed the state senate last week, according to the Washington Post.

Maryland’s state government is controlled by Democrats, who cite Republicans’ plan to repeal and replace ObamaCare as one of the reasons it seeks the power to sue the Trump administration. 

{mosads}Other states have sued the Trump administration over the president’s executive order banning U.S. travel by refugees. The order is currently halted due to a nationwide restraining order imposed after Washington state Attorney General Bob Ferguson filed a lawsuit.
