Iran tests Russian-built air defense system
Iran completed a successful test of the Russian-built S-300 air defense system, the Associated Press reported on Saturday.
The news outlet, citing IRNA, Iran’s official news agency, said the test was conducted in the country’s central desert during a military exercise.
{mosads}The S-300 system, which is able to track and strike several targets, is Russian-made and had been transported to Iran in 2016.
Iran in 2015 signed a deal with the U.S. and international powers aimed at curbing the country’s nuclear program.
President Trump has loudly ripped the nuclear deal, blasting former President Obama for negotiating it and pledging on the campaign trail to terminate the agreement. He has yet to do so since being inaugurated.
