Watch Live: White House holds press briefing as hurricane approaches US

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders will answer questions from reporters on Friday afternoon as an expected Category 3 hurricane looms closer to land in the Gulf of Mexico.

Hurricane Harvey is expected to hit the coasts of Texas and Louisiana later on Friday.

The briefing is expected to begin at 1:45 p.m.
