Jill Biden, Miguel Cardona discuss gun safety initiative with school principals: Watch live

First lady Jill Biden and Education Secretary Miguel Cardona will join other administration officials for a town hall with school principals at the White House on Thursday to discuss the new actions focused on safe gun storage.

Government data shows 76 percent of school shootings are committed with guns found in the home of or from a family member, while a similar percentage of unintentional shootings of children are also carried out with unsecured guns, according to the White House.

The event is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. EST.
