Melania Trump: ‘Miracle’ husband survived assassination attempt

Former first lady Melania Trump called it a “miracle” former President Trump survived two assassination attempts this summer.

She detailed the July 13 attack on Trump’s life, where he was grazed in the ear with a bullet at a rally in Pennsylvania, from her perspective as part of a rare and wide-ranging interview granted to Fox News this week as she promotes her new self-titled book.

I, I ran to the TV and, I rewind it and I watched it,” she said of the rally in Butler, Pa. “I was only a few minutes behind and, something, I guess, look over me. So I didn’t really see live lives, but maybe, you know, three minutes, few minutes later.”

“But when I saw it, I, you know, it was … only nobody really knew yet,” she continued. “Because when you see him, on the floor and you don’t know, you don’t know what really happened.”

The former first lady added that “both of the events, they were really, miracles, if you really think about it.”

“July 13th, it was a miracle like that much,” she said. “And he could, you know, he could not be with us.”

During the conversation with Fox host Ainsley Earhardt, Trump discussed how she met the former president, how a career in the fashion industry prepared her for the scrutiny that comes with living in the White House and the criminal prosecutions the former president is facing.

She also detailed how the raid on their Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida felt like an “invasion of privacy” during the now-dropped classified documents case involving the former president.
