Ex-GOP Reps. Kinzinger, Comstock to join Harris for Pennsylvania rally

Vice President Harris will be joined at a Pennsylvania rally by more than 100 Republicans, including former GOP Reps. Adam Kinzinger (Ill.) and Barbara Comstock (Va.), a senior Harris campaign official said Wednesday.

The campaign event will take place in Bucks County, a swing county in the critical battleground state; President Biden won the county by 17,000 votes in 2020. The event coincides with early in-person voting starting there Tuesday.

Other former GOP lawmakers who will join Harris include former Reps. Jim Greenwood (Pa.), Mickey Edwards (Okla.), Denver Riggleman (Va.), Chris Shays (Conn.), David Trott (Mich.), as well as former Georgia Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan, former New Jersey Gov. Christine Todd Whitman and dozens of other Republicans.

Kinzinger will speak at the event, which will be focused on patriotism, upholding the Constitution and unifying all Americans, according to the senior Harris campaign official. Also on Wednesday, Harris will be interviewed by Fox News’s Bret Baier, which will air during his block at 6 p.m EDT.

Harris has attempted to court Republicans, including earlier this month with an event in Ripon, Wis., the birthplace of the GOP, alongside former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.), who has endorsed her.

On Wednesday, the vice president is expected to repeat her claims that another Trump term would be dangerous for the country, which she argued at a rally in Erie, Pa., earlier this week.

She is also expected to call for unity and call on more Republicans to join her, the senior Harris campaign official said, noting that the vice president has pledged to put a Republican in her potential Cabinet and has said she would establish a council on bipartisan solutions.
