Harris rooting for Dodgers in World Series match-up with Yankees

Vice President Harris said she’s rooting for the Los Angeles Dodgers over the New York Yankees as the two legendary franchises prepare to face off in the World Series.

During an interview with Noticias Telemundo’s Julio Vaqueiro, which is set to air in full Wednesday, Harris was asked if she would be rooting for the Yankees or Dodgers.

“Dodgers,” replied Harris, a San Francisco Bay Area native.

“The color says it all!” Vaqueiro responded, referring to Harris’s navy blue suit. The Dodgers’ primary color is blue.

“Every day! But, actually, that’s my husband’s team, and so I’m there with him,” Harris said, referring to second gentleman Doug Emhoff.

“He was very excited about this,” she said.

Harris said the Dodgers “have a great team” and remarked they “did a great job the other night,” referring to their series-clinching 10-5 win Sunday in Game 6 of the National League Championship Series against the New York Mets. She said she would be watching the World Series while on the road.

The Yankees and Dodgers are set to face off in Game 1 on Friday evening. The two teams last faced off in the World Series in 1981 and have been rivals for more than a century, dating to the Dodgers’ roots in Brooklyn, N.Y.
