• Joe Dagher has joined Quinn Gillespie & Associates as a senior associate in the firm’s government-affairs division. Dagher comes from Sen. Bob Corker’s (R-Tenn.) office, where he was most recently a legislative aide for banking and housing. Before that, Dagher worked as Corker’s legislative correspondent. He has also worked for former Sen. Mike DeWine (R-Ohio).
• Clark Lytle & Geduldig has hired Jay Cranford to be partner and Amy Wren to be vice president of external relations. Cranford comes from Speaker of the House John Boehner’s (R-Ohio) office, where he was as an assistant for policy. Prior to that, Cranford was the staff director for the House Resources Subcommittee on Energy and Minerals. Wren is leaving her job at the U.S. Trade and Development Agency as congressional liaison officer. Wren worked in President George W. Bush’s administration and was a staffer for former Rep. Tom DeLay (R-Texas).
{mosads}•Beth Provenzano is joining the National Retail Federation as senior director for federal government relations. Provenzano leaves the Office of the Secretary of the Senate, where she served as deputy chief of staff. Provenzano has also worked as executive assistant and scheduler for Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D-W.Va.).
•Jennifer Palmieri has been promoted to president of the Center for American Progress Action Fund. Palmieri formerly worked as senior vice president of the organization. Palmieri also served as the national press secretary for the Democratic National Committee in 2002 and worked eight years in the Clinton administration in various roles including deputy press secretary and special assistant to then-chief of staff Leon Panetta.
• Bryan Tackett has been hired as senior associate for Venn Strategies LLC. Tackett comes from 3 Click Solutions, where he was a legislative director. Before that, he worked for Rep. Jared Polis (D-Colo.) as a legislative fellow, where he advised on financial services, healthcare, budget and tax issues.
• Douglas Dziak has joined Nixon Peabody LLP as counsel to the firm’s government relations and public policy practice. Dziak most recently served former Sen. George Voinovich (R-Ohio) as legislative director and chief counsel. Before that, he worked on the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs as general counsel.
