The Obama administration on Tuesday asked Congress for $3.7 billion in emergency funding to address the wave of child immigrants crossing the southwest border.
The figure is much bigger than the $2 billion that administration officials initially floated, and the total $4.3 billion package also includes a request for $615 million for the Department of Agriculture to fight wildfires in the West.
