White House press secretary knows three different Hilary Rosens

White House press secretary Jay Carney said Thursday that he could not comment on how many times Democratic strategist Hilary Rosen had been to the West Wing because — he knows not one, but three Hilary Rosens.

As Team Obama tried to distance itself from comments made by Rosen, who said that Ann Romney “never worked a day in her life,” Carney, in an odd twist, told reporters that he could not verify how many times she had been to the White House because he knows a trio of women with the same name.

{mosads}”I personally know three Hilary Rosens,” Carney said. “I’m not sure those represent the person we’re talking about here.

“I don’t know how many times she’s been here,” he added.

Records show that someone with the name Hilary Rosen has been to the White House 36 times.

The Carney remark instantly became a talking point on Twitter, with Republicans accusing Carney of spinning.

“White House spin on West Wing visits: there are a lot of Hilary Rosens out there. Wow,” wrote Brendan Buck, a spokesman for House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio).
