Magazine: Inside Obama’s White House

The Hill several months ago decided to launch a major investigative project on Barack Obama’s presidency. This special report coincides with the ninth anniversary of Obama announcing his White House bid on Feb. 10, 2007, in Springfield, Ill.

The Hill’s reporters and editors interviewed dozens of administration officials, lawmakers, former lawmakers and other newsmakers on the president’s two terms in office. We asked our sources to tell us things that have never been made public before. And they did. You will read some incredible and insightful anecdotes in the following pages.

This report tackles a number of high-profile issues, including the president’s efforts on healthcare reform, the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, the economy, and climate change. It also addresses Obama’s unfinished business and what the 44th president wants to accomplish in his last year in office.

It is anybody’s guess who will succeed Obama in the White House, but in many ways, the 2016 election will be a referendum on Obama’s two terms. Should a Democrat win, Obama’s initiatives will be safe at least for another four years. Should a Republican win, that president will try to roll back what Obama did, most notably ObamaCare.

Whatever you think of the Obama presidency, you will enjoy the investigative journalism in this special report.
