Obama gets golf rematch with NBA’s Steph Curry

It’s a rematch. 

President Obama hit the links on Monday with NBA star Stephen Curry and his father, Dell Curry, at the Farm Neck Golf Club in Oak Bluffs, Mass. 

{mosads}It’s the second time in consecutive days the president has teed up with a basketball star who skipped the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, where Team USA is competing. 

On Sunday, Obama played his 300th round as president, with Los Angeles Clippers guard Chris Paul.

But Obama’s golf rivalry with Curry from the Golden State Warriors runs deeper. 

Curry joined Obama for 18 holes last summer during his Martha’s Vineyard vacation, and afterward, the former MVP revealed that the president has a knack for “talking trash” on the course. 

The guard’s father-son group lost to the president’s pairing. Days later, Curry told late-night comic Jimmy Kimmel that he had trouble concentrating because there were “25 Secret Service agents on every hole.”

When the Warriors visited the White House in February to celebrate their 2015 NBA title, Obama couldn’t resist ribbing Curry for blaming the agents’ presence for his loss. 

“That is not the case, but he will get another opportunity,” Obama said. 

Completing the president’s foursome is Washington lawyer Cy Walker, who also played on Sunday with Paul.

Obama is on a two-week vacation on the secluded Massachusetts island, where the first family has visited nearly ever summer during his time in office. 

It’s the president’s second round of golf since he arrived on Saturday.

Curry has been a semi-regular presence in the basketball fan in chief’s world since he became one of the best players in the NBA. In April, he visited the White House and appeared in a public service announcement to promote the president’s My Brother’s Keeper initiative.
