Small Business chairman: McMahon ‘excellent choice’ to head SBA

A House GOP chairman on Wednesday lauded President-elect Donald Trump’s pick of wrestling mogul Linda McMahon to lead the Small Business Administration.

“Linda McMahon is an excellent choice by President-elect Trump to lead the SBA as administrator,” House Small Business Committee Chairman Steve Chabot (R-Ohio) said in a statement.

{mosads}”I look forward to working with her and the new administration to roll back burdensome regulations and increase access to capital for America’s 28 million small businesses,” he added.

Trump praised McMahon on Wednesday for her leading role in helping grow WWE to a “global enterprise,” calling her “one of the country’s top female executives.”

“I am honored to join the incredibly impressive economic team that President-elect Trump has assembled to ensure that we promote our country’s small businesses and help them grow and thrive,” McMahon said in a statement.

Chabot said he looks forward to working with McMahon to address “ongoing problems” at the SBA and improve its efficiency.

“Our Committee will work with the new administrator to advance meaningful reforms that will make the SBA more efficient and customer-friendly for small businesses,” Chabot said.

“This work should begin by fixing the ongoing problems in SBA and SBA-administered programs that were exposed through our oversight hearings in the 114th Congress,” he added.

McMahon, the latest Cabinet pick announced by Trump, has long been floated a potential SBA appointee given her ties to Republican causes and to Trump himself, who appeared at WWE pro-wresting events.
