TMZ reported that the flight was prearranged.
The swap comes after a passenger began verbally attacking President-elect Donald Trump’s elder daughter and her family on a JetBlue trip out of New York City earlier Thursday.
Multiple Secret Service agents escorted Ivanka Trump, her husband, Jared Kushner, their three children and several other relatives off the initial plane after its landing, TMZ said. The family was then transferred to a private jet at San Francisco International Airport waiting to ferry them to their final destination.
{mosads}Other passengers aboard the JetBlue craft were reportedly not allowed to leave until the Trump family had deplaned.
The passenger who accosted the Trumps was removed from the plane after reportedly telling Ivanka Trump, “Your father is ruining the country” and asking why she was on the flight.
A separate passenger aboard the flight out of John F. Kennedy International Airport told TMZ that Ivanka Trump “ignored the guy and tried distracting her kids with crayons.”
JetBlue said in a statement to TMZ that removing a disruptive passenger from any flight is never “taken lightly.”
“If the crew determines that a passenger is causing a conflict on the aircraft, the customer will be asked to deplane, especially if the crew feels the situation runs the risk of escalation during the flight,” it said. “Our team worked to re-accommodate the party on the next available flight.”
