President-elect Donald Trump is considering George Conway, husband of top adviser and former campaign manager Kellyanne Conway, to be the next U.S. solicitor general, Bloomberg reported Friday citing two sources familiar with the matter.
George Conway is a long-time corporate lawyer, spending more than two decades as a partner at New York’s Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz.

The solicitor general represents the U.S. government in the Supreme Court and the next pick for the job will play a key role in most legal battles waged by the incoming Trump administration.
The solicitor general also determines when it is appropriate to appeal a lower court decision and when to seek review from the Supreme Court.
