Trump to be sworn in using Bible from childhood

President-elect Donald Trump will be sworn in using a Bible from his childhood, the Presidential Inaugural Committee confirmed early Tuesday.

The president-elect received the Bible from his mother as he finished Sunday Church Primary School in New York. Trump’s name is etched into the cover.

“In his first inaugural address, President Lincoln appealed to the ‘better angels of our nature,’” Tom Barrack, the committee’s chairman, said in a statement.

{mosads}“As he takes the same oath of office 156 years later, President-elect Trump is humbled to place his hand on Bibles that hold special meaning both to his family and to our country.”

Trump will also use the Lincoln Bible, which President Obama used at his inauguration in 2009.

ABC News reported over the weekend that Vice President-elect Mike Pence will take the oath of office using the same Bible as President Ronald Reagan. Pence will be sworn in by Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.

Trump and Pence will be sworn in on Friday.
