Trump Jr: Victory has ‘humbled’ my father

One of Donald Trump’s sons says his father’s White House win has subdued the president-elect ahead of his inauguration Friday.

“Listen, I think he’s been humbled by this whole process,” Donald Trump Jr. said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” “And, you know, whether he shows that outwardly or not is one thing. But I’ve seen it with him throughout.”

Trump Jr. added that the gravity of his father’s imminent presidency is finally dawning on the incoming first family after the campaign season.

{mosads}“Being a part of the process, the fight, it’s so brutal, campaigning and being out there 24/7 — and every five minutes there’s a high and a low and a high and low,” he said.

“I mean, you’re going so hard during the campaign that it sort of desensitizes you to virtually any emotion, if that makes any sense,” Trump Jr. added. “And I know he’s experienced a lot of that. He’s just ready to get to work.”

Donald Trump and 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton waged a bruising battle for the Oval Office last year.

While his win may have humbled Trump, it hasn’t stopped the president-elect from attacking his critics on Twitter, as he did before Election Day.

Trump lashed out at Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.) last week after the civil rights icon said he is not a “legitimate president” following revelations of a Russian influence campaign in the 2016 race.

The president-elect slammed Lewis as “all talk” and “no action,” deriding the Democrat’s results at decreasing crime in his 5th Congressional District.

Donald Trump also publicly feuded with actress Meryl Streep after she derided his victory during her Golden Globes acceptance speech earlier this month.

The incoming president dinged Streep as “one of the most over-rated actresses in Hollywood” and “a Hillary flunky who lost big” on Election Day.

For New Year’s Eve, Trump tweeted best wishes to “my many enemies and those who have fought me and lost so badly they just don’t know what to do.”
