The acting assistant attorney general for national security on Monday said she does not foresee changes to her job as a result of President Trump taking office.
“Our mission doesn’t really change depending on who’s in the White House or who’s at the helm at [the Department of Justice], because the threats to national security as they evolve, we evolve to meet them. That’s our thinking. … I don’t actually anticipate much of a change,” Mary McCord said during a “State of the Net” conference, as reported by Politico.
{mosads}McCord said her department is “focused on the threat to the homeland” and that social media continues to be part of the counterterrorism cases the Justice Department regularly sees.
“We see social media in pretty much every case we bring,” McCord said.
