Trump to governors: Healthcare plan will be ‘very special’

President Trump on Sunday told governors at the White House that the administration’s new healthcare plan will be “very special.”

“Perhaps healthcare will come up. Perhaps,” the president said during the Governors’ Dinner, previewing policy discussions scheduled to take place Monday, according to CNN.

During the annual event, Trump touted the work he’s done since assuming office.

“It’s been a lot of fun,” he told the governors.

{mosads}He also pointed to ObamaCare, which he said has been a “tremendous problem.” He added that former President Obama’s signature healthcare legislation needs to be repealed and replaced.

“I think you’re going to see something very special,” Trump said.

Trump has vowed to repeal and replace ObamaCare. Earlier this month, he said a plan to replace the Affordable Care Act would come “in a couple of weeks.” He vowed during a rally held earlier this month that the new healthcare plan would provide “much better healthcare at a much lower cost.”

At the end of his toast Sunday with the governors, Trump called for Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe (D), the chairman of the National Governor’s Association, to give a toast.

When introducing McAuliffe, Trump said: “I just destroyed his political career.”

McAuliffe said during his toast they would have the “greatest NGA meeting in the history of NGA meetings.”
