Trump, Merkel meeting postponed due to weather
President Trump and German Chancellor Angela Merkel have postponed their highly anticipated first meeting thanks to a snowstorm expected to hit Washington, D.C., Monday.
The meeting — originally set for Tuesday — has been pushed to Friday, White House press secretary Sean Spicer said.
Trump and Merkel are expected to hold a bilateral meeting and working lunch, then answer questions at a joint press conference.
{mosads}Merkel was a close ally of former President Obama, but Trump has been critical of the influential European leader on issues such as trade and refugees.
