Poll: Trump less trusted than TV news outlets
President Trump is less trusted than several major television news outlets, according to a new poll.
A Monmouth University survey found that Trump is less trusted than ABC News, Fox News and MSNBC.
Slightly more than one-quarter of respondents said they were more likely to trust Trump over ABC News, compared with 53 percent who said they would trust ABC News more.
When compared with MSNBC, 33 percent said they are more likely to trust Trump while 47 percent said they are more likely to trust MSNBC.

There is a split among partisan lines, with Republicans more likely to trust Trump instead of the media.
Out of the three networks tested, ABC News is more trusted than Fox or MSNBC, according to the poll.
Pollsters also found 81 percent of respondents think Trump has had a worse relationship with the media than his predecessors. Only 4 percent say the president has had a better relationship and 12 percent say it is about the same.
Fifty-eight percent also think the president’s current relationship with the media has hurt his image while 51 percent say the state of the relationship has hurt the media’s image.
A majority of respondents also said they think some traditional major news sources either regularly or occasionally report “fake news.”
The president often blasts the media, referring to some networks and articles as “fake news.” On Wednesday, he went after The New York Times, claiming the publication’s coverage has gotten worse since the election.
The Monmouth University poll was conducted from March 2 to 5 among 801 adults. The margin of error is 3.5 percent.
