Pro-Trump group launching $3M ad campaign for House allies

A nonprofit group is reportedly launching a $3 million ad campaign to help House Republicans who backed the GOP’s healthcare bill.

The group, America First Policies, is looking to back a dozen House Republicans who publicly supported the American Health Care Act, The Washington Post reported.

The “advocacy campaign” will start Monday and include broadcast, digital and social components.

{mosads}The group includes a number of veterans from President Trump’s campaign, such as Katie Walsh, Trump’s former deputy chief of staff who now serves as a senior adviser to America First Policies. Longtime GOP strategist Nick Ayers serves as the group’s chairman, and Brad Parscale, who ran digital operations for the Trump campaign, works as a senior adviser to the group.

The team will use the hashtag #ROC, which stands for “Repeal ObamaCare Caucus.”

In the group’s television and web ads, titled “Repeal Now,” the House Republicans who supported the GOP’s healthcare bill are touted for “taking on Nancy Pelosi” and “standing with President Trump to repeal ObamaCare now.”

“We’re starting positive, but all options are on the table,” one adviser told the Post.

The ad campaign comes after the GOP’s healthcare bill was pulled from the floor amid dwindling support.

After the bill was pulled, the president blamed Democrats and the conservative House Freedom Caucus for not supporting it and promised a great healthcare plan in the future.
