The New York Daily News previewed its Wednesday cover online, which calls President Trump “leaker of the free world.”
“Trump spilled ISIS secrets to Russia,” it says below a picture of Trump meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak at the White House, referring to the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria.
The cover also describes Trump as “yukking it up” with the pair alongside a photo of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
{mosads}The Washington Post reported Monday that Trump revealed highly classified intelligence information to Lavrov and Kislyak while meeting them at the White House last week.
Current and former U.S. officials told the Post that Trump relayed information from a critical source of intelligence on ISIS.
Trump’s “code-word information” disclosure risks damaging the relationship with the intelligence source, which has access to ISIS’s inner workings.
But national security adviser H.R. McMaster said Monday that “the story that came out tonight, as reported, is false.”
“The president and the foreign minister reviewed a range of common threats to our two countries, including threats to civil aviation,” he said outside the White House.
“At no time — at no time were intelligence sources or methods discussed. And the president did not disclose any military operations that were not already publicly known.”
