Trump aide: Boehner is the disaster
White House social media director Dan Scavino called former Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) a “disaster” in a tweet Friday after the former GOP leader criticized President Trump’s time in office.

The tweet came after reports Friday that Boehner had slammed Trump during a keynote address at financial services giant KPMG’s annual Global Energy Conference on Wednesday.
“Everything else he’s done has been a complete disaster,” Boehner said, according to energy-sector news publication RigZone.

Boehner argued that GOP plans for massive tax reform initiated by Trump and House Republicans were “just a bunch of happy talk.”
The former Speaker also said he “never envisioned” Trump in the White House, saying, “He’s still learning how to be president.”
Boehner resigned in October 2015 after repeatedly clashing with Republican lawmakers tied to the conservative Tea Party movement.
The Ohio Republican had faced criticism from within the GOP for not doing enough to keep the federal government in check during President Obama’s tenure, prompting conservatives to call for him to step down.
Scavino has lobbed barbs at other GOP figures who have spoken critically of Trump.
Earlier this month, the White House official went after former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush as “low energy” on Twitter after the former GOP presidential candidate noted that he had predicted Trump would become a “chaos president.”
