Trump blames ‘obstructionist’ Dems for vacant ambassador spots

President Trump on Tuesday blamed vacant seats at departments on Democrats not approving his political appointees, despite many top State Department posts still having no nominees several months into his tenure.

“.@foxandfriends Dems are taking forever to approve my people, including Ambassadors. They are nothing but OBSTRUCTIONISTS! Want approvals,” Trump said.

{mosads}Trump has made 11 nominations for ambassadorial positions, five of which have been confirmed, according to the American Foreign Service Association.

There are currently 56 vacant posts for countries where the United States exchanges an ambassador.
