Ivanka Trump weighs in on awkward hug with Rubio: ‘Fake news’
Ivanka Trump on Tuesday praised Sen. Marco Rubio (R) for his hugging ability after Twitter users mocked the Florida senator for a photo of him hugging the first daughter.
“Fake News! Marco is an excellent hugger,” Trump tweeted.
“Anonymous sources say @marcorubio planned the alleged failed hug. I have no comment (but I would have hugged him anyway!)” she wrote in a previous tweet.

Trump and the White House adviser joked about the response from social media users after a reporter earlier in the day posted a photo of the GOP senator greeting Trump at the Capitol for a meeting that included conversations about paid family leave.
There was no video accompanying the image, but Twitter users quickly poked fun at the awkward-looking photo.
Rubio later joked that he was “investigating” the hug, sharing other photos to “shed greater details on this incident.”
