Trump slams media: ‘Often times those sources are made up and do not exist’

President Trump on Wednesday blasted the news media for its use of anonymous sources.

“Remember, when you hear the words ‘sources say’ from the Fake Media, often times those sources are made up and do not exist,” Trump tweeted.

His tweet come as his son, Donald Trump Jr., faces scrutiny for a meeting he had last year during the presidential campaign with a Russian lawyer.

{mosads}On Tuesday, Trump Jr. released a chain of emails detailing his conversations about setting up a meeting with a Russian lawyer who had offered compromising information on Hillary Clinton.

His release of the emails came after a report in The New York Times that said Trump Jr. was told before the meeting with the Russian lawyer that the damaging information on Clinton was part of a Russian government effort to help his father’s presidential campaign.

Trump Jr. said late Tuesday that he would be willing to testify under oath about his election-year meeting with the Russian lawyer.

He also said during a Tuesday interview on Fox News he likely would have “done things a little differently” in retrospect, with regards to the meeting.

The president often rails on the media and its use of anonymous sources. He also accuses various networks and articles as being “fake news” and has decried the Russia probe several times in the past as a “witch hunt.”
