Poll: 1 in 8 people who voted for Trump say they wouldn’t do it again

About 1 in 8 people who voted for President Trump in the 2016 presidential race said they would make a different decision today, according to a new poll.

A Reuters/Ipsos poll of 2016 voters found 12 percent of respondents said they would not cast their votes for Trump “if the 2016 presidential election were held today.”

Still, 88 percent of those who voted for Trump in the 2016 presidential race said they would do it again.

{mosads}The poll was conducted from July 11 to 12 among 1,296 people, including 541 Trump voters. 

Trump has faced several controversies during his first six months in office and has struggled to make progress on some of his key agenda items.

Earlier this week, the Senate GOP’s healthcare bill collapsed amid lack of support, at best delaying one of his top campaign promises.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said earlier this week the upper chamber would move forward with its plan to repeal ObamaCare, a plan that already lacks support from some GOP senators.

Over the course of the past few months, new details have also continued to emerge about Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election.

Reports surfaced earlier this month that Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., along with White House adviser Jared Kushner, had a meeting last year with a Russian lawyer who Trump Jr. was told had damaging information on Hillary Clinton.
