The Trump administration has repeatedly sparred with the press since taking office, with the president frequently referring to coverage unfavorable to him as “fake news” and calling the media the “enemy of the American people.”
The White House has also recently faced major criticism for barring reporters from recording during briefings. Scaramucci’s first press briefing Friday was the first on-camera White House briefing in almost a month.
