Trump: Democrats, Russians laughing at ‘phony Russian Witch Hunt’

President Trump said Democrats and Russia are laughing at the special counsel’s investigation into Russian election interference in a Sunday afternoon tweet, saying it is a “witch hunt” that is taking hold as an excuse for losing an election.

“As the phony Russian Witch Hunt continues, two groups are laughing at this excuse for a lost election taking hold, Democrats and Russians!” Trump tweeted.

{mosads}Trump has previously called the probe into Russia’s election meddling and potential ties between his campaign staff members and the Kremlin a witch hunt.

Democrat Hillary Clinton has cited WikiLeaks’s release of her campaign chairman’s emails before the November election as a reason for her loss to Trump.

“If the election had been on Oct. 27, I would be your president,” Clinton said during a May event.
