Trump attacks Dems on national security
President Trump lashed out at Democrats on Friday and blamed them for delays in security measures for the U.S. in the wake of the terror attack in Barcelona on Thursday.
“The Obstructionist Democrats make Security for our country very difficult. They use the courts and associated delay at all times. Must stop!” the president tweeted.

The president went on to emphasize the importance of combatting radical Islamic terrorism in a separate tweet.
Radical Islamic Terrorism must be stopped by whatever means necessary! The courts must give us back our protective rights. Have to be tough!

{mosads}Trump has strongly condemned radical Islamic terrorism in the past, going as far as saying during a campaign rally that the U.S. would “bomb the shit out of [ISIS].”
The president also frequently called out former President Obama for not using the specific phrase “radical Islamic terrorism.”
The administration has made combatting Islamic extremism a priority, with Trump discussing the topic often during the presidential campaign and since moving into the White House.
Trump plans on reshaping the government’s Countering Violent Extremism program to focus solely on radical Islamic terrorism.
Trump’s remarks come just one day after a van plowed into a crowd of people in Barcelona, Spain, killing at least 14 people and injuring dozens of others.
The Islamic State in Iraq and Syria has claimed responsibility for the attack through its propaganda arm on Twitter.
Earlier Friday morning, Trump tweeted that the Department of Homeland Security and law enforcement were on “alert & closely watching for any trouble,” adding, “Our borders are far tougher than ever before!”
