Kissimee Police Chief Jeff O’Dell said the shooting, which happened at about 9:30 p.m. in the central Florida town, looked like a possible police ambush.
“Officer Matthew Baxter succumbed to his injuries. Officer Sam Howard is in very grave condition,” the Kissimmee police tweeted.

The suspected shooter was arrested later in the day, according to the Associated Press.
