Trump thanks Bannon following White House departure
President Trump thanked Stephen Bannon for his service on Saturday following Bannon’s departure as White House chief strategist.
“I want to thank Steve Bannon for his service. He came to the campaign during my run against Crooked Hillary Clinton – it was great! Thanks S,” Trump tweeted.

It was Trump’s first public comment following Bannon’s announced resignation.

Bannon leaves the White House a polarizing figure, popular with the nationalist part of Trump’s base but a flash point for Democrats.
On Friday, hours after the announcement he would leave the White House, news broke that Bannon would return to leading Breitbart, a conservative online media outlet.
