Dem rep on Gorka, Bannon exit: ‘2 down and 1 to go’
A Democratic lawmaker praised Sebastian Gorka’s exit from the White House on Saturday on the heels of Steve Bannon’s ouster earlier this month, declaring, “2 down and 1 to go.”
Rep. Steve Cohen (D-Tenn.) offered a cryptic warning on Twitter for the Trump aide seen as one of the last members of the nationalist wing of Trump’s White House.
“Sebastian Gorka, a fiery nationalist and Bannon ally, abruptly exits White House 2 down and 1 to go. Stephen Miller!” Cohen tweeted, referring to the president’s senior policy adviser.

Gorka, a national security aide known for defending Trump on cable news, left his White House post on Friday after Bannon left as Trump’s chief strategist earlier this month.
Gorka wrote in a resignation letter reported by The Federalist on Friday that be believed “forces” that don’t support Trump’s populist agenda were on the rise in the White House.
Democrats and other Trump critics have upped the pressure on Trump and his chief of staff John Kelly to remove members of Trump’s nationalist coalition from the West Wing in the weeks after white nationalist violence killed one and injured dozens in Charlottesville, Va.
“[G]iven recent events, it is clear to me that forces that do not support the MAGA promise are — for now — ascendant within the White House,” Gorka wrote Friday.
Gorka claimed he resigned on Friday, while a White House official said he did not resign but no longer worked in the West Wing, giving the impression that he was forced out.
“Sebastian Gorka did not resign, but I can confirm he no longer works at the White House,” a White House official said Friday night.
