Clarke’s book is titled “Cop Under Fire: Moving Beyond Hashtags of Race, Crime and Politics for a Better America.”
{mosads}According to its description, the book is “[d]eeply rooted in Sheriff Clarke’s personal life story … . It’s about the issues that deeply affect us today―both personally and politically―and how we can rise above our current troubles to once again be a truly great people in pursuit of liberty and justice for all.”
Clarke has been a controversial figure who in the past called Black Lives Matter a hate group.
Trump’s tweet comes as headlines are dominated by Hurricane Harvey, which made landfall in Texas as a Category 4 storm.
Shortly after the Clarke book tweet on Sunday, Trump recognized those who have been dealing with the storm.
“Great coordination between agencies at all levels of government,” Trump tweeted. “Continuing rains and flash floods are being dealt with. Thousands rescued.”
Trump is expected to visit the Texas Gulf Coast this week, according to Rep. Blake Farenthold (R-Texas).
