Pence to visit Texas on Thursday
Vice President Pence will visit storm-struck areas in Texas on Thursday as the state grapples with the devastating effects of Tropical Storm Harvey. Pence announced the visit on Wednesday.

Pence spoke in West Virginia, where he was appearing at a Chamber of Commerce event.
Texas is dealing with catastrophic flooding caused by Harvey, which made landfall on Friday as a category 4 hurricane.
{mosads}The rainfall total has reached more than 47 inches and is expected to climb, according to The New York Times.
The report also cited officials saying 38 people have died or are suspected to have died as a result of the storm.
President Trump visited areas affected by the storm in a show of support on Tuesday.
“We won’t say congratulations. We don’t want to do that. We don’t want to congratulate. We’ll congratulate each other when it’s all finished,” Trump said during the trip.
The White House confirmed on Tuesday that the president plans to return to the Lone Star State on Saturday.
