Trump on Hurricane Irma: ‘Not good’

President Trump on Wednesday predicted that Hurricane Irma “will not be good.”

During a meeting with congressional leaders at the White House, Trump said they would discuss the dangerous hurricane set to hit Puerto Rico and Florida.

“There is a new and seems to be record-breaking hurricane [heading] toward Florida and Puerto Rico and other places,” he told reporters in the Oval Office. “It looks like it could be something that will be not good. Believe me, not good.”

{mosads}The Category 5 storm has already battered several Caribbean islands and could pass over the U.S. territory of Puerto Rico later Wednesday. While forecasters say its path is uncertain, some fear it could hit Florida by the weekend.

Irma poses a fresh challenge for the Trump administration, which is already scrambling to respond to the widespread damage in Texas and Louisiana caused by Hurricane Harvey.
