Trump: Tax reform ‘needed now more than ever’
President Trump on Friday pressed Republican lawmakers to act swiftly on legislation to overhaul the country’s tax code, urging them not to wait until the end of the month.
“Republicans must start the Tax Reform/Tax Cut legislation ASAP. Don’t wait until the end of September. Needed now more than ever. Hurry!” Trump wrote on Twitter.

Trump’s request to lawmakers came a day after the Senate passed a stopgap measure to fund the government past the end of September and raise the nation’s debt limit.
{mosads}While Trump has long promised tax reform, he has begun to push the matter more aggressively in recent weeks, holding events in Missouri and North Dakota to pitch his overhaul proposal.
In Springfield, Mo., last week, Trump warned members of Congress not to disappoint him on tax reform.
“This is our once-in-a-generation opportunity to deliver real tax reform for everyday hardworking Americans, and I am fully committed to working with Congress to get this job done, and I don’t want to be disappointed by Congress,” he said.
