Pence heading to Indiana to push tax reform: report
Vice President Pence is reportedly slated to travel to his home state of Indiana later this month as the Trump administration makes its case for tax reform.
Pence is set to visit the Hoosier State on Sept. 22, a senior administration official told Politico, which reported he will seek to put pressure on Sen. Joe Donnelly (D-Ind.), who will be defending his hotly contested seat in the 2018 midterm elections.
Donnelly has walked a fine line between his own party and the Trump administration, joining only two other Democrats in not signing the party’s conditions for tax reform.

The Democrat is also one of three members of his party who voted to confirm conservative Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch.
The White House has taken aim at other vulnerable Democrats up for reelection in 2018 in recent visits by President Trump.
Trump visited North Dakota this week, where Sen. Heidi Heitkamp (D) is up for reelection next year.
“Sen. Heitkamp. Everyone’s saying, ‘What’s she doing up here?’ But I’ll tell you what — good woman, and I think we’ll have your support, I hope we’ll have your support. Thank you very much, senator,” Trump said at his rally on Wednesday.
However, not all vulnerable Democrats have received the same treatment as Heitkamp.
Trump targeted Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.), who is seeking a third term in the Senate, during a trip to Missouri last month.
“We must lower our taxes and your senator, Claire McCaskill, she must do this for you, and if she doesn’t, you have to vote her out of office,” Trump said during a rally.
The president has also targeted McCaskill on Twitter.
I will also be going to a wonderful state, Missouri, that I won by a lot in ’16. Dem C.M. is opposed to big tax cuts. Republican will win S!
