White House spokeswoman not sure if Trump will read ‘sad’ Clinton book

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Tuesday she wasn’t sure if President Trump would read Hillary Clinton’s book about the 2016 presidential election, while calling her book tour “sad.”

“Whether or not he is going to read Hillary Clinton’s book, I’m not sure. But I would think that he’s well versed on what happened,” Sanders told reporters.

In Clinton’s book, titled “What Happened,” the former Democratic nominee expresses regret about losing to Trump, writing she’s spent “part of nearly every day” since the election “wrestling with a single question: Why did I lose?”

Sanders said it is “sad” that “the last chapter of [Clinton’s] public life will now be defined by propping up book sales with false and reckless attacks.”

The former first lady and secretary of State plans to travel to 15 cities in the U.S. and Canada this fall to promote her book.
