Pence’s spokesman to leave White House
Vice President Pence’s press secretary, Marc Lotter, is leaving the White House.
Pence acknowledged his departure in a Friday afternoon tweet.
“Big thanks to @VPPressSec for doing a great job for @POTUS & our team. He might be leaving WH but I know we’ll see him all the time on TV!” he wrote.

Lotter is expected to work as an outside advocate and surrogate for Pence and President Trump. His exit came with Pence’s blessing.

“I’m looking forward to continuing to support and discuss the president’s and vice president’s accomplishments and agenda in my new role as a spokesperson on their political efforts,” he told the news wire.
Lotter said the decision came with Pence’s blessing. It hasn’t been decided which outside pro-Trump group he’ll work with.
The Indiana native has longstanding ties to Pence and served as deputy campaign manager of his 2016 gubernatorial campaign.
Axios first reported Lotter’s departure.
