Trump joined by professional golfers at Florida club

President Trump was joined by three professional golfers at his West Palm Beach golf club on Saturday as he kicked off his first full day in Florida for the holiday season.

A White House spokeswoman said Trump played golf with Jim Herman, Daniel Berger and Justin Thomas, all professionals in the sport. Also joining Trump was Thomas’s father, Mike Thomas, and unnamed friends, the spokeswoman said, according to a White House pool report.

It’s not the first time the president has hosted professional golfers at his Trump International Golf Club. Just last month, Trump played a round with golf legend Jack Nicklaus at the club.

He also played last month with Tiger Woods, Dustin Johnson and Brad Faxon at Trump National Golf Club in Jupiter, Fla.

Trump arrived in West Palm Beach on Friday, where he’s spending the Christmas holiday at Mar-a-Lago, the private resort he has dubbed the “Winter White House.” He has emphasized that he’s on a “working vacation.”

Trump broke with years of tradition on Friday when he departed Washington without holding a year-end press conference.

A White House official said that the decision to forgo the annual news conference was meant to keep a focus on Republican lawmakers’ passage of a sweeping rewrite of the tax code, which Trump signed into law on Friday.
