Trump retweets far-right activist
President Trump retweeted a far-right figure on Saturday night.
Trump retweeted Jack Posobiec, who is well-known for promoting debunked “alt-right” conspiracy theories.
{mosads}“Dick Durbin called Trump racist for wanting to end chain migration. Here’s a video of Dick Durbin calling for an end to chain migration,” the tweet read.

The brief clip is a cut from a 30-minute Sept. 14, 2010, Senate floor speech by Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) arguing in favor of approving the DREAM Act, not calling for an end to chain migration.
The section of the clip cut by Posobiec shows Durbin reading a description of the DREAM Act and its affect on family migration, or so-called chain migration.
Durbin was among the senators attending a meeting with Trump in which the president referred to Haiti, El Salvador and African nations as “shithole countries.”
Durbin confirmed Trump’s comments to reporters.
Among the debunked conspiracy theories that Posobiec has promoted is “Pizzagate,” which falsely claimed without evidence that a pedophile ring was being run out of a D.C. pizzeria with the involvement of top Democrats and the Hillary Clinton campaign.
The theory led to a man firing a gun at the pizzeria in 2016.
Posobiec has also promoted a conspiracy theory that the Democratic National Committee was behind the murder of staffer Seth Rich, which has been proven to be false.
This isn’t Trump’s first time retweeting the far-right figure. He also shared a tweet by Posobiec about shootings in Chicago, as Trump was facing backlash for his comments about the deadly white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Va.
