Gallup: Trump rated highest on terrorism, economy
President Trump receives his highest job approval rating on the economy and terrorism, according to a new poll.
A Gallup survey released Thursday found that a majority of those polled approve of the job Trump is doing when it comes to both the economy and terrorism. Fifty-two percent approve of the president’s handling of terrorism, while 51 percent approve of his handling of the economy.
{mosads}Results of the survey are comparable to another recent Harvard CAPS/Harris poll, which found that a majority of respondents approve of the job Trump is doing in regards to the economy and fighting terrorism.
Forty-six percent of voters in the latest Gallup survey did not approve of how Trump is handling terrorism, while 47 percent said they did not approve of the job he is doing with the economy.
Nearly half of respondents who identify as independent, 47 percent, approve of the job Trump is doing with these two issues.
The president received his lowest approval rating on his relations with the press. Only thirty-four percent of those polled approved of how Trump handles the media, while 65 percent did not approve.
The national survey of 1,044 adults was conducted from Feb. 1-10 by phone. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points.
