White House cancels public events due to forecast of snow

The White House on Wednesday canceled public events due to the forecast of snow.

President Trump had been slated to host a Cabinet meeting Wednesday morning and a meeting with the Financial Services Forum in the afternoon.

Federal offices in the Washington, D.C., region were closed Wednesday due to the winter storm. 

The closure comes as lawmakers race against a March 23 deadline to pass an omnibus spending bill and avert a third government shutdown this year.
