Stormy Daniels to attend court hearing for Trump’s personal lawyer

Adult-film star Stormy Daniels will attend a Monday court hearing for President Trump’s personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, her lawyer said Sunday.

“I’m going to be there at 2. I can announce that we got comfortable with a security plan last night for my client, she’s going to attend at 2 on Monday,” Michael Avenatti said on CNN’s “State of the Union.”

“I think Monday afternoon could prove to be very interesting.”

{mosads}He was pressed on whether Daniels’s decision to attend the hearing is intended to “provoke” Cohen in any way.

“Not at all. It’s intended to send the message that this is a very, very serious matter for her and she wants to make sure that the American people know that she’s behind efforts to bring to light as much information and documents as possible,” he said.

“She also wants to ensure that she is heard and that she’s represented at the hearing.”

Avenatti said her appearance at the hearing has “nothing to do” with getting in Cohen’s head.

The FBI last week raided Cohen’s office, home and hotel room, seizing emails, tax documents and business records.

He is scheduled to appear before a U.S. district judge in New York to answer questions about his business practices, which have been under investigation by the FBI for months.

In their sweep of Cohen’s records, investigators were reportedly seeking to obtain documents and communications regarding a payment to Daniels allegedly made to remain silent about an affair she claims she had with Trump more than a decade ago.

Trump reportedly called Cohen on Friday to “check in” as both of their legal teams attempted to block the federal government from reviewing documents seized during the raid.

Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, is suing Cohen for defamation and has claimed the nondisclosure agreement she signed as part of the deal is invalid because Trump never signed it.
